Promotions come amid strong growth as Opti9 continues investing in leadership to carry its momentum forward

GARDEN CITY, N.Y., Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Opti9, a North American hybrid cloud and managed services provider, today announced the promotions of two current vice presidents to its executive leadership team. Cory Mac Donell has been promoted to Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), and Mat Steinlin has been promoted to Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The appointments come during a period of strong growth for Opti9 and reflect the company’s continued investment in the leadership needed to advance it, from expanding its customer base to strengthening the security foundation behind its hybrid cloud and managed services portfolio.

Mac Donell brings 15 years of experience in cloud and technology sales to his new role. He most recently served as Opti9’s Vice President of Sales, a position he has held since January 2025. Mac Donell joined HostedBizz, which Opti9 acquired in 2022, as its first employee, and spent more than 12 years there rising through a series of sales and business development leadership roles, including Director of Sales and Business Development, and Director of Sales Engineering and Delivery. Earlier in his career, he held sales roles at Rogers Communications. Mac Donell holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business-Marketing from the University of Ottawa and an Associate’s degree in Business-Marketing from Fanshawe College. As CRO, he will be responsible for unifying Opti9’s revenue-generating functions and advancing the company’s go-to-market strategy to build on its current momentum.

Mat Steinlin, Chief Information Security Officer

Steinlin joins Opti9’s executive leadership team following the company’s acquisition of Aptible, where he has served as Head of Information Security since 2023, leading security and compliance work for digital health companies through HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2 and PCI assessments. Prior to Aptible, Steinlin served as Chief Information Security Officer and VP of Security Engineering at RISCPoint, and held information security leadership roles at Lifespark and Peerfit. Earlier in his career, he was Co-Founder and CTO of dog-ibox. Steinlin holds a bachelor’s degree in Application Development and IT Security from WISS School of Business Informatics and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). As CISO, he will lead Opti9’s security strategy, ensuring the company’s rapidly growing platform remains secure, compliant and resilient for customers across healthcare, finance and other regulated industries.
